A Memory Cafe offers a social session and a stimulating atmosphere, in a safe environment for those living with dementia and provides an opportunity for peer group support and information for their carers
Our expectations of DMCC members are that they will…
Regularly offer a social session in a safe, friendly, stimulating environment for those living with dementia or other memory difficulties and their carers.
Work collaboratively with mental health and social care professionals in the best interests of those living with dementia and their carers.
Have relevant policies and procedures in place relating to health and safety, safeguarding, data protection, etc.
Train volunteers in first aid, safeguarding, food safety health and safety and dementia awareness, accessing DMCC’s free training.
Provide DMCC with information and data that will support our publicity, evaluation and communication with funders.
Consider working towards our DMCC Quality Mark for memory cafes.
