Barnstaple – North Devon District Hospital Dementia Support Cafe
The cafe is run by the Admiral Nursing Team – Dementia specialist nurses, who welcome everyone and anyone who is living with dementia, their families/carers; or people who are concerned that they may have a dementia and just want to talk things through. We also have a team of hospital volunteers who are essential to helping us run the cafe.
We have interactive activities, word searches, spot the difference, topical quizzes, music quizzes, and live musicians who come along and play supporting attendees to join in. Activities include interactive dementia-specific stimulation games and puzzles.
There’s an opportunity for carers/families to talk to the very experienced Admiral Nurses on any aspects relating to dementia. Tea, coffee and a selection of biscuits are available for all.
